Homemade Makeup Remover

Finally an all natural homemade makeup remover that's good for your skin!

I wish I had a recipe for a homemade makeup remover during my high school days. As a member of my school’s drill/dance team I sent plenty of days trying to chisel off the layers of makeup required for our performances. At once point I even bought a commercial makeup remover. Little did I know the kind of ingredients I was rubbing all over my poor face:

Water, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Isostearyl Palmitate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hexylene Glycol, PEG 4 Laurate, PEG 6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Sucrose Cocoate, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetate Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Fragrance

Um, no thanks.

Even buying the brands that were supposedly “good for my skin” get a “moderately hazardous” mark from the Environmental Working Group’s cosmetic database. (Learn more about that here.) *sigh* No wonder I struggled with skin issues! Between my toxic makeup and the toxic crap I used to get it off my skin was desperate for some help!

Why YOU should use homemade makeup remover

This all natural homemade makeup remover is simple and effective. Almost ridiculously simple, really. The only downside is that you have to make it fresh each time you want to use it… but considering that it takes less than 5 seconds to put it together, I’d say it’s no biggie.

Alright, back to the homemade makeup remover recipe.  🙂
