Easy Peasy DIY Natural Facial Toner

Super easy and all natural facial toner. Only two ingredients!

My life used to be a lot more complicated. Take a look at my bathroom fifteen years ago and you would have seen an array of products to help me feel more beautiful. *sigh* Too bad most of that stuff just aggravated my skin and cost me lots of money. No more. Now I enjoy the simple life… at least when it comes to my beauty routine.

And that’s why I LOVE this so-uber-good-for-you and totally all natural facial toner. It’s beyond effective and SO EASY. My kind of beauty recipe.

Why do I need a toner?

Most commercial toners market their ability to absorb excess oils from the face and even out the complexion. But so many of these toners are full of harsh chemicals and fragrances (read: more harsh chemicals) and are often expensive, to boot. In fact, in my experience, many of the toners I tried made my skin look worse.

Because I wash my face either with doing the oil cleansing method (read why it’s so awesome here) or with just plain water, I don’t have the oily problem I used to have when I used commercial washes. That’s because commercial cleansers strip you skin of oil so that your skin produces more oil to try and balance things out. It turns into a vicious cycle. But with the oil cleansing method I noticed a dramatic change in my skins ability to stay cleaner longer.

Apple Cider Vinegar Facial Toner

This is my toner of choice now days. And for good reasons. Just look at the benefits of using Apple Cider Vinegar as a facial toner:

  • It helps balance and restore skin’s natural pH and improves overall complexion
  • Evens out skin tone
  • Lightens sun and age spots
  • Dissolves dead skin
  • Reduces appearance of pores
  • Can help with acne breakouts and scarring

Of course, you need the right kind of Apple Cider Vinegar. Raw, organic, and “with the mother.” You can find it online here. And once you’ve got a bottle there are plenty of other things you can do with apple cider vinegar.

How can it do all these things? Because it’s magical. Okay, not really, but in a world that puts so much emphasis on harsh chemicals to do the job, nature can seem almost magical in its complex simplicity.

Note: If you are like me, the smell of apple cider vinegar can be a little… um, unappealing. The smell will go away as it dries, trust me. And you know what? The smell doesn’t bother me too much anymore. I mean, I would want to bottle it as a perfume, but I’ve developed quite the tolerance. Besides, the benefits FAR outweigh the temporary scent.

There you go! Super easy, all-natural facial toner!
